onX HUNT is a mapping and GPS app aimed at the hunting world. With this app, you can enjoy offline maps, keep track of your prey, and check whether you're trespassing on someone's private property or on government-protected land.
Tapping on a terrain will bring up a large amount of information about it. For example, you can find out what kind of animals can be sighted, what kind of ownership the land has, or what points of interest there are. If you want, you can add important information yourself, such as photos.
On the map, you can mark waypoints to easily return to your vehicle or to closely keep track of your prey. Yo can record distance, coordinates, duration and speed.
onX HUNT also allows you to view maps in 2D or 3D and choose between several layers. You can also view the current weather situation and forecast, which uses data from Weather Underground and the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The app is free but it does have a premium version that can be trialled for 7 days.
